Flat-latch 36 Age

May I ask for assistance with aging a model 36 with serial number 3707xx?

If I am reading this right it says 1953-54.

3707xx (six digits) would be 1963-'64. 370xx (five digits) would be the early 1950s.

Flat latch era ended in the early 50's if I remember correctly .I think robertwalsh is right on the year range . If the serial number you quoted is correct the latch has been replaced with the earlier one .

Flat latch era ended in 1966. Diamond magna era ended in 1968.

Guess I should have been more specific . I should have said the completely flat latch assuming his gun was early 50's and would not have the later style with the raised front edge . Proof positive that assuming anything aint safe!
