For all you "Lonesome Dove" fans

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the good and well respected people stole most of their herd from Mexico. It bothers me...

Apparently that did happen along the border. And it went both ways.
Know a dude from outside of Marfa, Texas. When he was a boy his family would go into Mexico and buy cattle. And herd them back across the Rio Grande.
He was too young to ride that long and his grandpa was too old.
So they rode the chuckwagon.
Later on Texas Tea was discovered on their ranch.
It turns out that oil makes you richer faster than cows ever will!
Pat went Army, West Point, then Ordnance.

Yeah, guess it was normal back then...

Look what came in the mail yesterday.

Thought you guys might like this...

The Texas Ranger badges worn by the actors in the upcoming Robert Duvall movie, Wild Horses. Each badge is made following tradition by using a Mexican silver cinco peso coin. Duvall's wife, Luciana, plays Texas Ranger, Samantha Payne and retired Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson and former Chief of the Texas Rangers, Hank Whitman, also have roles in this production. Many thanks to Lopez Engraving for sharing these photos of their work.

Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duval pull the look off. The clothing models look like they are on their way to try-outs for The Village People.
I don' care who ya are, that's funny right there. :D

FWIW, I can't imagine anybody but Tommy Lee doin' Call. I thought he pulled off a perfect rendition of a stoic, somewhat emotionally inhibited man that was probably raised by a brutal father, but was determined to be a better and more compassionate man.
His problem was that he had not a single inkling from his early life of how to do that.
Tommy Lee NAILED it. ;)
