Just wanted to share. Its not perfect but the best I could do.

Well I took my old cracked handguard off my rifle (got my hands on a good replacement from a fellow member) so i cut the cracked one down to put on my pistol. Im just going for a different look basically. The hand guard went from 4 inches to 6 1/4 inches. Thanks for looking.

Just used a small hand saw and measured the tape line 100 times lol

Then hit it with a polish wheel to match the shine on the rest of the hand guard

This is what it will look like once i get my barrel nut off.

LOL. juvi, you son of a gun. That's my towel I bought with my money and paid taxes on. lol

You married guys kill me. So domesticated now. haha

:) one time I was cleaning my guns at the kitchen table, and using one of the ol lady's good towels. She got home and... Well just glad I was surrounded by guns.

Nice job. I really like the idea of using a polishing wheel on the cut end.

One trick I used when I did the mid length hand guard on my pistol. Get an assortment of different grit DA sanding pads with the adhesive back. normal body shop or auto parts suppliers have them. Stick it to a hard flat surface. I have an old kitchen counter top that is my work bench. Then hold the hand guard firmly and square to sand out the saw marks. Leaves you with a laser beam flat surface on the face of the hand guard.

Majorlk, you will need a special barrel nut wrench for the M&P15-22. Search for some of BrettVista's videos. very informative.

been there done that, what do ya do when the wife carries a bigger gun.....lol:eek:
Wife just loves it when i clean my rifles on the kitchen counter. "Heavy Sarcasm"....Awwwww, i love the smell of Hoppes #9 in the morning.

I have to find them videos to watch.

I have all of the room I need and have been married 32 years to the same Red Head: it's called OutSide.

Helped a buddy clean a couple of shot guns last year; he went to the kitchen table with the guns and cleaning supplies; I asked him if he had any plastic to put down; he came back with newspaper. I am thinking this is not going to be good. His wife came home and stopped dead in her tracks; it was pretty painless. She says take that table out of the house when you are done; I will go buy a new dining room set while you are out duck hunting in the morning. She did!!!!
