For my son

Due to the price of .45 ammo and my M&P 45c always in the safe I sold it yesterday to get the funds to buy my 11 year old son a new 22.

So, I just got home from the store with a brand new M&P 15-22. I installed a Centerpoint 4-16x40 scope and a bipod. I really hope he is surprised when he gets home from school.

The boy was more excited than last year when he came home from school to a new Ruger 10/22 now he has a gun that looks like my AR15. I can't wait to take him shooting tomorrow because I think he may want to sleep with it tonight

GREAT idea!
I started teaching our children from age 5, starting with a Benjamin pump pellet pistol and a pump pellet rifle. As they became proficient we moved to a Browning T-bolt, and then my Ruger 10/22.
I told each of them that they would get their own 10/22 when they turned 10. So, they knew it was coming but would REALLY press me to give to them the night before. The 2nd and 3rd children were a little less persistent than the first because they got to shoot his a lot.
Get ready for a LOT of enjoyment!

Good catch. I can't tell if he is wearing ear plugs or not. Both are necessary.

Thumbs up to see another southpaw goin' at it... but shooting lefty does make both eye and ear protection more important. An OOB firing is a lot riskier when you're on the same side as the ejection port.

Yes that was totally bad on my part. We were out of town at my wife's dad's ranch and I forgot to pack our shooting bag that has the safety glasses and ear muffs.
