I have one of those too which I've shot on occasion. The muzzle blast will clear the lanes next to you indoors!

Don't get much better than that!:)

Back when hardware stores, Western Auto and such sold guns.

First gun I bought was a Ruger M II Stainless Target at the hardware store. I have the box and hang tag also. Not as old as yours though, has the yeller box.:)

the funny thing is that hardware store is still open....and still selling guns...its a frequent haunt for me :D But, I bought the gun about 2 miles down the road at another shop...I stopped there on my lunch and watched the previous (original) owner sell it to the shop....I was "bird dogging" it.....i didnt leave until i bought the gun!

Friend of mine has one of those (his not unfired though). A real tack driver for sure. I,m jealous.

have one of those as the only ruger i own. shoot it regularly with my handloads. starting load wih hs-6 is a nice and not too loud load.

Wow... new in the box. I'd have a hard time shooting it, but it would kill me not to . Glad my Security Six was used so I didn't have that dilema. :)

Nice one, a very good find...now you GOTTA remember, when it comes time to shoot it, better hold on with a good, firm grip, no limp wristing, or you will wear the front sight over your GOOD eye!!
also try it out at around dusk, not quite dark outside...awesome!!

I also have one, but I think mine is a little later from the SN. I used it for the 4 or 5 years I shot CAS, but using mild lead bullet handloads to keep the MV under 1000 ft/sec. I have fired some full power loads, but the muzzle blast is not very pleasant. I much prefer shooting my handloads.

I had often considered getting another cylinder and having it bored to take .32-20. But every time I did, I'd remember that making .32-20-level loads using .30 Carbine cases was a lot cheaper. I always wondered why Ruger didn't make such a convertible as they did for the .45 and .357 Blackhawks.

I used to have one. I love the .30 Carbine cartridge and thought it would be a great companion to my M1 Carbines. After firing six rounds out of it, and beating the empty brass out of it with a mallet, I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

Very nice! I've always wanted one of those - yours is almost too nice to shoot.

And here I thought you waz a Smiff & Western man!

I would never ...

I swear I swear!!!!......its my only collectible Ruger......I have a couple "working" guns too :D (77/22 Hornet, 77 MarkII Custom 7mm-08, Stainless Mark II 5.5" Bull Barrel That's ALL I swear:p)

Mine was made in 2008. I took it, my .460 S&W Mag and my Keltec PLR-16 to the range. I told the range officer that it was going to be a loud day. I did not disappoint!

Loudest darn gun I ever shot. Right after I got mine in the mid 70's, I was driving in the pasture in my VW Bug. A jackrabbit was on the fence line about 50 feet off the passenger window, so I rolled down the passenger window and fired my first shot. Killed both the rabbit and my hearing. Like Jellybean, I had to drive out the brass with a mallet.
