twaits saw where an I-J was up for auction, with what looked like
Ivory stocks from a S&W. He notified me, and I'm now the proud
owner of a stock-less I-J, and a Perfected with some bling. The
stocks aren't a perfect fit, but I should be able to get them fitted properly. Real ivories, and in good shape. More ergonomic than the
factory stocks, by far.
I seem to have a problem getting pictures taken in a timely
manner, but here's a couple, of a 38 DA Perfected. It came with standard stocks and it's a good shooter. Nice and tight, good bore
and chambers.
Here's the grips, thanks to twaits!! TACC1

Here is one shipped in 1917 similar to yours with the double opening latch.

Twaits,
Not sure if you're aware, but your PM Inbox is full!! I've been trying to contact you, but so-far still no luck!! Thought I'd let you know!!

Tacc1, that perfected looks nice with those grips. Glad I could be of assistance. Now you just need some grips for the IJ.
Was the IJ in decent shape? It seemed to look okay in the pictures

The I-J looks pretty good, and the mechanicals seem to be
100%. Once I get grips on it, it's going to the range, along
with the Perfected. It should make a good BUG. TACC1
