Ford Motors shoots itself in foot.

Not even green chicks in California?

Perhaps a Prius convertable is needed?

Only chicks pick up chicks in California.

As far as what Ford is doing it makes sense to me. The fact that SUVs were profitable in the 90s is no use now when they are crushing new ones since the dealers refuse them. Someone has to start pushing us to alternatively powered vehicles.

Maybe we could fix one up to run on red ink and worthless mortgage contracts?

Anything that is mandared, extorted or pushed down out throats for the next four years is going to cost grandchildren our way of life. all this crap makes me tired. California is setting on a fortune in oil way off shore and still they want to tax pot. Obama wants to give to the worthless, and I mean worthless for generations. The government will be in charge of every thing, we all know how good they are at being in control. Pelosi and Reid what a duo we have been hoodwinked on a grand scale. Ford is just hanging on. I'm sure we will all want to drive a over sized golf cart. Wow what a situation...

I'm sure that Ford would have LOVED to have been "allowed" by our EPA & DOT to import the Mondeo! I've long been one who extolled the virtues of highly efficient Diesel's for automotive applications. But, here (USA) we have individual state's with environmental boards that care little about the practicality and efficiency of a platform. Often, they'll be swayed to draconian edicts about certain items based solely on the emotional appeal of one? Due to surrounding states accepting another state's so called "standards", one entire region of our country can be made off limits to certain products power plants. Currently California, Oregon and Washington state are all running the California clean air board standards. And the last time I checked, all 3 deny use of Diesel cars (though newer european designs are welcomed and used just north of our border with British Columbia) Lately some allowances have been made to our rules as long as low sulphur fuels are run. But it remains a HUGE hodgepodge of conflicting rules and regulation. That's what I referred to in an earlier posting about keeping the regulators/politicians out of the design and operational process being imperative, to assuring a products success.
Thanks for your expert opinion.
Anyway, there are some other examples because Ford also builds in Europe vehicles with gasoline engines, which were exported to USA with your emissions level requisition. Ford Europe design vehicles (lower consumption) had to have been built in USA since years ago.

I still think it's a darn shame, that with all of the people in the country who know how to run an auto company, none of them work in the auto industry.
