Been looking for a 4" Blue Python from the early 70's for a while now (and watching prices rise as well ) to round out my very modest "collection".

After reading a post from "Dewey" about the Python market, I went to a LGS that I found by accident a few weeks ago. As fate would have it, they had a 1971 blue Python in very good shape. A bit of negotiation and we came to an agreement. :D:D

The price was less than what I have seen Python's going for on Gun Broker and other sites and I had the chance to actually handle it and check it out before buying. A few minor dings and scratches and a faint turn ring. Mechanically it is very sound.

Anyway, it is always easier to say "Sorry" than to ask for permission!!

Bill

Congrats with this fine Python. I did own a 4 inch. But becouse it had a Pachmayer grip I sold it. I ever regred this. But I am still happy with my 1961 build one.

No apologies necessary! That's a fine revolver you bought. I own a couple from 1973; both 4", one nickel, one blue. Great revolvers.

The 2nd Generation stocks on yours are really nice looking. Someone has really taken good care of them.

Fine photography!!! I miss my 1968 4" Python. Thought I got him when he offered me twice what I paid for it. Still far less than one can be found for now. I have or had a factory new set of service grips for it also.

I cannot begin to tell you how jealous I am at this moment. I am green with envy. I have been hunting one of those for a number of years. Please post or pm me with what I can generally expect to pay when I find one in as good of condition as yours. That is absolutely a thing of beauty! Congratulations on that great find. I'd be proud of it!!!

I'd love to get another to match my 8" nickeled. But if I found a NIB silver snake; I'd downsize to a lesser SUV if Ihad to. Have fun with yours . "Get in some good trigger time,'' BIKER

Bill,

You don't want that old thing... I'll bet even the cylinder rotates the wrong way!:D

Great find!!
