While reading several posts today it occurred to me that Forum Members collect all sorts of cool and interesting stuff, not just S&Ws.

Members have other types & mfg guns, Coins, Baseballs, Photos of all sorts of things, Barbwire, Autos, Trucks, Airplanes, Tools, Vintage & Current Interesting Things and the list goes on and on.

That got me thinking, what cool and interesting things do I have a collection of?

At this time I am severely thinning my gun heard so that kills the thought of me being a real gun collector.

I cannot think of anything else which I have several of which might be called a collection.

I have many interests and would probably have collections of several things if I had the funds.

I do have a large collection of one item but do not think it qualifies me as a collector.

I have a fair number of ex-wives; does that qualify me as a collector?

Probably not.

I am pretty sure that collection is why I do not have any other collection and lead a boring life.

I collect English bicycles-"English Racers" as they were accled incorrectly in my youth. Like firearms, there are different production runs-"vintages" if you prefer, you see how they changed over the years, features added, changed-dropped. One feature I like about is that the basic features changed not all, it is possible to buy one from the 1950s-or earlier-overhaul the headseat, bottom bracket, hubs, using readly available parts-ball bearings, e.g., and ride it today.

This was my late wife's collection. They are tatting shuttles used to make lace. The knots are similar to the making of fishing nets. When we traveled we would stop at antique and gun shops. She got shuttles and I got an occasional rifle. I have posted these before, but because they are odd and unusual here they are. All kinds of material, bone, ivory, tin, silver, gold, wood, plastic, etc.

I have a small collection of those. Also C. Reeves and Al Mar knives. I much prefer the knives.

Mine are more accumulations than collections as they are almost entirely disorganized: books and cartridges.

The books run the gamut from military history to theology and I have been "deaccessioning" for about 3 years with no end in sight.

The cartridges fill several cigar boxes and are organized only in the sense that pistol cartridges are kept separate from long gun ammo. Some are the last round I had from calibers I no longer shoot, while others were picked up out of curiosity when hardware stores still sold individual rounds from broken boxes. I need to find a kid with an interest in this field. I'm slowly burning up my ammo supply in anticipation of the day when I no longer need it, but those cigar boxes will be tough for my wife and sons to dispose.

I have guns from several manufacturers, but then started collecting S&W's and did so for many years. Still have several of them, but my interests changed and I now try to collect Colt Single Actions. Have a few off brand or reproduction Single Actions too, as they are much cheaper than Colt's. Prices have gone through the roof for both S&W's and Colt's.:(

Besides the usual - Guns, Knives.
There's Coins and Hammers.
A bunch of Books on Guns and Knives.
The Wild Card - Cook Books.

I have small "collections" of several things. Knives, guns, watches, rings, motorcycles, guitars, pets, CD's, vinyl albums, etc. Oh - and non-working lawn mowers. :p
