I think that they can keep it. Gander always has sky high ridiculous prices.

For the W/W box 9MM that price is right in line with what Wal-Mart gets for it. Though they never have any, anymore?

Wow!

Can you check on the price on the 40mm ammo? I need to get some for my Bofors gun before dove season starts.

Gander can keep the ammo at those prices. I will never pay more than $10 total for a box of 9mm. I'll stop shooting 9mm before I pay more than $10 OTD for a box of 9mm.

Last 45ACP I bought was a 100rd Value Pack of Remington 230gr JHP at Wal-Mart for $38 and change. Gander has the same ammo for $69.

W-W 9x19 is just under $20 for 100rds at Wal-Mart and they usually have some in stock. Their 9x19 Blazer brass cased is $8.97 for 50rds and is usually gone within 24 hours of them getting any in.

In a Walmart near me in Houston, the Blazer Brass 9mm is 8.26$/50-rd box. It was increased from 7.97$/box about 2-weeks ago.

FIRE FOR EFFECT!!!!!!!!! It's not even worth reloading at that price. In this political climate. Buy all you can!

Gander Mountain had ridiculous ammo prices long before the ammo shortage! Would never buy ammo from them!

FWIW Carter Country on I-10 had Monarch 9mm for about $15 for 50 last week. Academy had some 9mm (Blazer or Wolf Steel casings?) for $9 for 50.

23 bucks isn't bad for a 100rds of 9mm these days. Esp from a Gander Mountain. Sure, you could drive around to all your local Walmarts hoping that they have Blazer Brass or WWB in stock for less (they probably won't) or you could just pony up the extra fiver and save your time and gas. Eh. Now might be a decent time to exchange paper dollars of questionable worth for a more durable commodity, but that's up to you.

I just pick up the phone, call what ever Wally World I want, ask for the Sporting Goods department and ask them if they have anything in stock. Doesn't really cost me a dime.

People answer the phone at the sporting goods department of your Walmart? Assuming that they do, can speak English, and say "Yes, we have some" *and* you get the person that actually knows one type of ammo from another, there's still no guarantee that it'll be there when you actually get to the store.

Absolutely. I've never had a problem getting through to the SG section of my local WalMart and I've also never interacted with a single employee there that wasn't a native english speaker. In fact I'm on a first name basis with the SG manager "Gary" who's an avid shooter. Culitvate those relationships where you can.

As far as knowing what type ammo they have (some emoployees do fill in outside their normal departments), just ask them to read the box, it's not rocket science and no, much like life in general there are no guarantees. You just do the best you can with what you got.

As of the current Gander Mountain store circular Winchester 9x19, 115gr FMJ is $27.99 per 100.

The same ammo at Walmart is just under $20 or 40% less than GM. Pretty big difference.

You've had better luck at Walmart than I have. Some Walmart employees are fine, but others... Asking them to read something is going to stretch their abilities. Last time I cleaned out the shotgun game loads, the clerk had a lot of trouble counting to 12 to figure out how many boxes that I had.
