Found a 1086

Was in a shop nearby doing a transfer and saw they had a very nice 1086 with the later round trigger guard. Looks like it's wearing Hogue smooth Tulipwood grips which would be an upgrade over rubber for me. $1,150 on the tag which seems to be low retail even when you can find one.

So I didn't buy it since the $ from that sale was already spoken for, but if anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send the shop info.

No interest, just a comment. …. The pimpilicious wood Hogue’s aside, it’s hard to say whether $1,150 is reasonable without knowing the gun’s true condition (to include field-stripping it to check internals) as well as how many factory 10mm mags come with this 1086 (?). Also, box & papers?

If, for example, the gun checks out as clean internally and comes with three (3) relatively clean mags, $1,150 is a great deal even if it was still wearing the factory derilin grips.

At 1660 produced and a trusted forum member saying it is in nice shape, $1150 would seem like a steal. Plus, I’ve got about 10 mags for my 1026. I’ve always wanted one just because it matches the hull number of the ship I spent the majority of my Naval service on. I know, pretty lame reason to want one.

If they made a 1070, I'd want one for the same reason.

No idea about number of mags or box. Gun looked to be in very nice shape but I didn't handle it.

Same here. That’s a real beauty. I saw it early enough, but gun funds were a little low. I’m just glad it went to someone in the forum family.

OK, 1086 in hand. Appears to be in excellent shape. Wood grips are well done. Like black trigger and hammer. Next stop, range!
