Found this 908 today at a LGS. A little edge wear, a few scratches, one magazine and no box. $270. Do I need another 9mm pistol? No. But. Couldn't walk away at that price, so it's added to the collection.

Great price and good condition. What else could you ask for?

That was a great price! I saved a 908 from a pawn shop. It had a damage rear sight and what looks to be a new front sight. The magazine base plate ripped/tore on me the first time I took it to the range. I spent $315 last summer and felt lucky to pay that price.

It would immoral to walk away from a 908 at that price! The finish on the slide is thin, so keep that in mind.

If it were me, I'd reach out to guzzitaco and find out how much he'd want to just re-blue the slide.

Found one at a local show this year. It was WAY more than what the OP paid for his.
(Yes, I bought it).

wyo-man

I have 2 of these , one was a nib 908s . It sat in my safe long enough and I finally shot it . Then I had Guzzitaco do me up a blued slide with an LPA sight on it so I could have the 2 tone look . Both of mine are great shooters and are great carry guns . You got yours for a great price and you won't regret it .

$270? Did you buy it from a guy selling weapons out of the trunk of his car? That's a smoking deal these days, congratulations!

if you find another one that you do not want, let me know! Carter's used to include their used inventory on the website, but I have not seen them there for a long time. I have only been to that location a few times. I have found a few bargains at Carters before the pandemic, but no $270 Smiths.

I bought a 708 from guns.com today. It was listed @ $400 but I offered $380. After a day or two of crickets they accepted my offer. The pics were lousy as in bad photo quality and I'm sure turned off many a would-be buyer. The condition was labeled as "good" with no mention of the bore nor pics of the bore. No mention of rust or freckles. I may have gone out on a limb so time will tell. UPS has it now and should be at my FFL (pawn shop) about midweek by the latest. I've always wanted a 908/3913 but couldn't compete with GB high rollers. It only has one mag so I'll be snooping around for a spare. If push comes to shove I can always get a $20 Promag. People pooh-pooh the PM's but I can get them to work. A break in period is needed and don't initially load them to capacity.
