Stop at my frequent LGS one day last week, it's been crazy there because of all the panic buying, prices are high and finding good deals have become scarce. While there I moseyed over to the small used section they have and saw what looked like a S&W black auto towards the bottom of the case, I could not tell what it was but knew it was a older auto. Had the sales guy pull her out and looked her over and found a very nice 915!! This thing was clean and maybe been shot a few times. When I saw the price I almost started a fire with the friction of my walled leaving my back pocket.

Got her home and open the box and found the original receipt with all the paper work in the bottom of the box. Was bought at a store down the road back in 12/21/1993 for $389.77, I paid $350.00.

Sometimes you come across a good deal when you are just window shopping!! :D

Thanks guys, I hope to have her to the range this week. Weather here has been cold and very wet!

I must say that I have been a big S&W (old) auto fan back when I got my first S&W 10mm in the late 80s, had to sell because I needed the money. Found a NIB 1006 last year that re-sparked my interest in the old auto series so the hunt was on. Now I have the 915 and look to add more models.

To me the older autos are the best S&W ever produced (I don't like plastic frame guns!) and underrated pistols I have seen. It's really amazing how you can still find such good deals on these quality pistols.

I wish S&W would bring back some of these pistols :D

Questions...... did the 915 ship with 1 mag or 2........ were they 14 or 15 rounds?

I just picked up a nice "shooter"/ utility...... with 2 high cap mags for $310.

Cleaned up nice but has been carried and shot some....but....... it has "personality"!

Great deal on a great gun Sigftw. I am lke you,I would love to see smith bring them back.

Just saw your post on your "new" 915. Very, very nice. I have a 908s, but that melonite(sp?) finish is really growing on me. Now I want one of those too!

There are a lot of older S&W autos I want but until all the craziness stops I'm holding off buying, unless I come across a good deal like this one.:D

That's an awesome score! My LGS has a really beat up police turn-in 5906 with one mag and won't budge on their $379 price.

Model 910

I've got a like new model-910 in its factory case with two 10 round mag's just wondering what it might be worth.... My son carried it when he first got into law enfrocement but sold it to a friend when he went to 40 cal. I bought it back off of his friend a couple of weeks ago for $250.00 I didn't need it but I felt like it was just to nice of a gun not to......

A year or so ago I bought a used 915 (95% shape) without box for $269. A few weeks later I found a 910 in similar condition, and although it was slightly more ($275) I had to have it as well. Both models usually sell for about the same amount, even though the 915 is a slightly less "economized" model.

S&W 915 w/ Hogue Grips

FYI - If you have a curiosity about what a 915 would look like with wood grips? Enjoy your new (toy, tool, vice, hobby)! This one is a keeper!
