Found a nice, super-cheap, perfect flashlight for my M&P!

I really wasn't expecting much for just over $20, and I've had BAD NCStar experiences in the past, but hell, this thing is awesome! It even has a quick-release so no allen key or screwdriver needed. Slips on and off easily, and there's no way in heck it could come off while firing. I think it looks great (very tacticool) with my 5" 9mm Pro, since it looks more aligned at the end, but I bet this would rock with any of them.

Of course, I haven't actually fired my M&P with it, but so far I love it! Very bright, too, considering it's only a 1 watt bulb!

I really like the on/off buttons, since you turn it on nice and quickly with your right index finger. Works really well. May not be great for holster use, though, depending on your holster, since it is a push-hinge-button system to turn on. But for me it's great.

The switch on my old NCstar was the problem. it would turn off after one shot. im sticking with TLR-1s from now on.

Don't see how this one could turn off by itself... Maybe you had a different/defective one?

I have seen a lot of low costs light that looked and worked great...right up until they were put into rough service. Recoil can do a real number on weapon lights. Hope yours fairs well.

Micro 90 here got it for $50 on GGG website with shipping. It holds up too.

I found one of these at a gun show last year, for about $35 though, and wondered about the same thing. So as soon as I got it I took it to the range on my 9mm, and shot it. It has had no problem whatever. I have not tried it on my M&P 45. I did like it because of the easy on/off, the simple switch, and it matches the M&P pretty closely. So it seems to be a good deal for the money, even better at your price.

Bought a Streamlight TLR-1S, no regrets.

I bought 2 of this exact style flashlight, except it was a 190 lumen model for $55, also on Amazon. These look like these style lights are all be made by NcStar. Strobe mode was activated by turning it off and back on quickly. At first I was very happy with them. Until carrying one into work to show my buddies. When I went to pull it out of my jacket pocket I found it on and very warm.

I turned it off. Shortly thereafter I turned it back on. It didn't come on. I played with the switch a second and it came on. I noticed the switch was now very twitchy. The strobe mode that I had found was no longer working reliably working the switch. I took a coke can out of the fridge and sat the off flashlight on it to cool.

After an hour I picked it back up and had to switch it on and off several times to come on. Got the strobe mode to come back 1 more time before I turned it off and put it back in the box.

When I got home I got out the other one and turned it on and sat it on the table. I came back and hour later and it was hot. Switch began having the same issues. I sent them both back to the guy in Texas (Longhorn Tactical) that was selling them on Amazon, for a full refund.

The lower lumen versions like those you refer to above may not have this problem, if they are not overheating.

That's very odd. Well mine has worked great for 2 range trips. No issues at all. No strobe, though.

It's one of those things... The Streamlight TLR1s can be had for $84 and is lifetime warranted, great reputation, amazing little weapon light.
In my eyes the little extra expense is worth it to get a really good light that I can depend on. And when I say depend on, I'm thinking the bad guy is on the ground in the dark hit twice but mad as heck. He has dropped his gun and it lays 4 feet out of his reach. I'm standing 12 feet away with my weapon on him, light in his eyes, holding him in place while I talk on my cell phone with 911, explaining I need help asap.

Now which light do you want? One that heats up and the switch gets funky after a little while or a Streamlight?

What do you buy a weapon light for? If you may have to depend on your light, get a dependable light!
