Norma Brand.... Brass 9mm 115 FMJ

Seen some decent reviews in my searching, but what do you all think? Ever used it?

I have some and fired a few rounds. I believe it is made in a Norma run or controlled factory in Hungary and it is good quality. Doubt the Swedes would allow imperfect ammo with their name on it of any kind.

Even though Communism fell three decades ago, some of the former Eastern Bloc countries still don't get the notice they deserve. The Hungarians have been making good guns and ammo for well over a Century plus. A tour of their Museum of Technology in Budapest is an eye opener!

Some of those 9MM are weird bullets but outstanding makers of European ammo. Prices are not a total steal but are not the price gouging and are in stock, they say. I got an email from GB this week constantly, "WIN 1000$ ammo!" At their auction prices, that is what? Two boxes?

Tight as in slightly out of spec or tight as in you are worried you are going to set one off when seating?

Being Euro, I always wondered if they had a smaller primer made over there that was a little smaller in Dia. than the US brands?

Sort of like the different 209 shotgun primers that spec. differently and need different hulls, to work.

Caveat Emptor--As Usual

I'm not bashing...but I am saying do your homework before paying $.82 per round of training ammo in 9mm (the Norma 115 gr FMJ).

Yes...their parent company is Raug Switzerland - muntions suppliers to Law Enforcement Agencies around the globe. Thier USA parent company is Raug Ammotec USA Inc.

The reviews posted on their website are "favorable" reviews. Also if you put just their phone number (912)-342-2272 in your search engine, you should see a hit on the Better Business Bureau and they have registered some 55 complaints in the last 3 months, for mostly non-delivery, broken packages, rounds missing, no communication after order, etc.

The business did respond by stating that effective November 20 they changed their shipping method from 3 rd party back to in house shipping, yet that complaints are mostly dated after that date.

Just sayin....be aware if you order, you can see a risk factor, but if they truly do have in stock and you are agreeable to the prices, plus shipping, plus handling, and you NEED the ammo..go for it!

If any members have bought from this outfit and had a "normal" or even pleasant experience please let us know as I agree that Norma ammo I've used in long guns has been very reliable and accurate.

Mods: Hope I don't get a ding as I'm not bashing, just checking a little more in depth. There are indeed some gougers out there, and I'm sure some scammers too.

I wasn't worried about the primer going off. I was worried about breaking the handle or something else on the press. Larry

Based on population, Hungary has a phenominal number of Nobel Prizes.

I spent just shy of 2 weeks in Budapest in 2008. I could spend another 2 easily.

I tried opening them up with a hand reamer I have but since in the past it's been easy too find .38 Spec. brass at the outdoor range it wasn't worth the time and trouble. One problem with the hand reamer is that I've been old for several years and my hands aren't even close too what they once were. Larry

At first, I thought S&B crimped the primer pockets, but it turned out their pockets are absolute minimum spec diameter, perhaps just the tiniest bit smaller than SAAMI spec. Don't know about any other brand of primer as I have always used CCI and Winchester, but even after running a crimp remover through those pockets, the primers were still very hard to seat.
