So I never really got the hang of all the lingo here What I am really wondering about is the phrase shipped to your FFL

I know it means it goes to you Federal firearms licenser but I don't really get if I pay for it on my end or the person selling the gun pays for it through his/her (respectfully) FFL

you pay your FFL for the transfer and also pay the seller for the shipping, handling, FFL fees (if any) on the shippers end.

you normally have to arrange, with a local FFL, to complete the transfer.

I means the seller is paying for shipping to your FFL. FFL fees on your end are your responsibility.

It means that as the law requires, the firearm will be shipped to the buyer's Federal Firerarms Licensed dealer, commonly referred to as a "transfer dealer", who records the firearm in his records, and then completes whatever background checks are necessary, has the buyer fill out the 4473 from, and etc., as if he were acting as the seller. Some FFL dealers are skittish about accepting shipment from non-FFL licensed "civilians", and insist that firearms shipped to them for transfer transactions be shipped from an FFL dealer. The other term you sometimes see is FTF, meaning face-to-face, a sale made between private parties, not involving insterstate shipment, or a licensed dealer. Hope that helps...
