I have shot several types of Aquila .22 rimfire ammo, but I had never tried the super quiet Colibri. My LGS had a display by the register so I picked up a couple of boxes. 20gr lead at 420 fps.
I thought it would be a wonderful little round to shoot in the back yard when I didn't want to go out onto the farm and shoot.
I set up my target trap on the fence line and shot at 10-15 yards. It seemed like the hammer strike and target ding were louder than the actual report. Absolutely no recoil or need for ear muffs. POI was pretty much POA at 10-15 yards. Overall it is a great round for light target shooting in the back yard.
The Straight Line Target is an early gun, serial #24 shipped Sept. 1925. A previous cartaker added a thumb rest onto the left stock that is actually pretty comfortable and it has a very nice trigger. The pull is very light but more of a 1911 type trigger than a revolver trigger. I posted a 5 shot group, standing at 12 yds. Not bad for my marksmanship. I also took an early K22 with a King front sight and Sanderson grips. I shot about 40rds before the rain set in but it was a lot of fun with a couple of classics.
