Hello I’m pretty new to the scene and picked up the FPC a couple weeks ago, was at the range and it just stopped shooting, wasn’t getting any trigger click. Took it home and stripped it and cleaned everything and oiled up the bolt. Messed around with it and now I’m thoroughly confused, when I charge it, it will only click if the gun is at an angle like upside down or 90°, and when I have it right side up and pull the trigger, it doesn’t click. See the video. If anyone has any help or reasoning for why this might be happening it would be greatly appreciated 🙏 can’t find anything on the Internet.

I just had this exact issue. The day started fine with me zeroing and going through about 3 or 4 23 round mags. After that, it didn't fire a round. I thought it was weird and maybe the hammer didn't reset so I continued to fire and it progressively got worse. It became every other round and then the gun basically died in my hands. I packed up and went home and it was there I realized I could get it to reliably drop the hammer if I held the gun sideways. Gonna give it a look over and see if I can see anything obvious before I send it back to S&W.

I'm 99% positive it's the out of battery safety. The OOBS safety is pushed down by the bolt when it's back and stops the trigger linkage from interacting with the hammer. The bolt has a cut out for the OOBS to rise up into when the bolt is fully seated. The spring or what ever tensions it to rise seems top be weak or out of spec enough that if you hold the gun straight up, it can't overcome gravity or something, but if you hold it sideways, it can rise. If I hold the OOBS up, it impinges on the hammer every time without fail

Has anyone been able to figure out what the actual cause is and resolve it? I have the 10mm FPC and this issue started after about 150 rounds. I cleaned and lubed everything again but that didn't help.
