I dont see a forum for the M&P FPC, but I saw a post about one here so I'll try my luck here:

I LOVE my FPC, and have made a couple videos on it. My standard shooting is a metal target at 100 yards, and I can hit it every time, that is when the shells fire.

I bought some Wolf brand ammo and was very happy with the results. The first 100 rounds went off without a hitch. That was 3 weeks ago. But today at the range, I was getting a Dud about every 5 to 8 shots. I dont know if it's the ammo or the gun. Has anyone heard anything about firing pin issues with the FPC?

Take a look at a few shells and tell me what you think.

Presumably you are using 9 mm. Steel case can be problematic. Use brass. Lots of great 9 mm deals out there. No need to use steel case. Ammoland has some good intel on steel v. brass. Ammunition Depot has some good deals. I love the 9mm FPC. They are now available in 22LR, 9 mm, 45 S&W, and 10 mm. And there is a FPC Thread area here.

I'll be very interested to see if the Wolf brand ammunition is the problem. I can only see one of your links to the fired shells, but those three look very strange.
One looks like a very light strike while the other two, well I really don't know.
Give a range report the next time you're out with different ammunition.

Correction: 40S&W

Went to the range again today after laying off awhile. Same thing is happening: About every 6 shots fail and sometimes I have to un-jam the rifle. I can see that the primer has been struck, but I dont know what kind or how deep the strike has to be to set off the shell. However, the strikes seem awfully shallow to me. I dont know if it's a firing pin issue or the shells. These are the same shells I've been using all year. See Today's Duds

I tried Wolf when I first shot a new SD9VE. Not again. Russian ammo exhibits a different impulse profile than US ammo. It also generates a lot of carbon and smoke. Steel case, if Wolf still is still using it, is also reportedly tougher on your pistol. Who knows. One or more dimension variables maybe non-spec.

I think TullAmmo is a tad better, but still dirty. I never had a problem with reliability, though. I haven't seen any here in years. As far as I know it's banned from import.

Acually the casings on steel cased ammo are softer than brass cased ammo. What sometimes happens is during the round being stripped from the mag into the chamber, the bullet gets pushed back into the casing allowing the round to chamber just i bit more deeper and you get a lighter strike on the primer due to that.

I'm gonna go with "Its the ammo". The primers may not be seated quite deep enough on some of the rounds. Try a different brand. Any brand. Brass cased. Winchester, Federal, Blazer, Fiocchi, Remington.
