Gentlemen - My J frame model 38 airweight has a crack in the frame directly below the barrel. Can or even will the S&W factory folks be able to do anything for it. Or is it now just an expensive spare parts handgun.

Hello sir - Mine is a 38 no dash so I guess I am out of luck. Guess I will just shoot 38 wadcutters and use it as is then. What's your take?

A photo might help determine how bad it is, but I wouldn't shoot it. If S&W can't help you, you can always scrap the frame and part it out. My 625-10 frame cracked, but it was covered.

S&W replaced my in warrenty M38, cracked just like yours, with a NIB M638. I wouldn't shoot my cracked frame revolver.
