Guys,if its too good to be true, then it probably is. Right now if you go on those sites and search for SVI Infinity 2011.....the same
exact gun, same words, same pictures will come up. The Gunbroker ad is the genuine one as I know the seller. Armslist is
a free service that sellers are anonymous, you dont get their information, there is no feedback. What you do is message the seller and then go from there. So Unsafe!!! I did contact the phony seller and he said he would sell it if I wired him the money. Wow, what a great deal!!!!

So the fraud is only on Armslist, and not actually on both sites? The title of your thread makes it appear to be on both sites.

The way this is worded-sounds to me like a jerk who trolls all the Militaria Forums selling militaria he does not own. I was contacted by a jerk like this guy wanting to sell me WWII militaria he never owned. Ill see if I can dig up any more info on this guy. I cant think of his name off hand-but he is a Polish citizen. Also, its believed its not just one person--but possible a group of people doing this scam.

I've experienced the same on Armslist.

I once saw a P7M8 with a price that was too good to be true. Emailed the guy. The responses were very canned and wouldn't send any more photos. I asked for his number but he said he was old hard of hearing so had to text. Most old people don't text.

Also, the location will say something like Seattle, Seattle or Washington, Washington.

Maybe some folks have got legit deals or business done but I'd stay away. Too many scams and bots.

I've bought three off armslist, all from guys who had inherited them and wanted to sell quickly. If they'll do an ftf they might be ok. The last kid (my Model 60) brought his gramma with him!

I don't like Armslist, but will contact the seller.

Edit:

Just read the ad, it's stupid. He/her/they just copy and paste, even the part with buy it now. Armslist doesn't have a buy it now... makes me sick.

I really like Armslist and I have gotten a bunch of great deals there. All of my deals were FTF and I have actually made some friends too.
I will really miss it when the "enemy" makes them go away.

Alright, I sent an email to the seller and promptly received following email from Armslist:

You previously responded to the listing:

"Infinity 2011 45acp 5" barrel SVI "

This listing has been flagged as a potential scam by other users.

Check our FAQs for information on how to avoid being scammed.

the armslist ad is flagged

The guy was not american
sellers first name is Kasl(thats one I never heard of)
the ad was so phony- did you see he said" if you do the buy it now there is no shipping"
guess what ...there was no buy it now!!!

Nice catch on this one. thankfully we both know the real seller and you were able to call this guy out..Nice work It certainly ruins the reps of US gun guys that truly have a passion for this. Thanks for the heads up

And it happens on all sites. Where there's a dollar to be made crooks will show up. If possible FTF is best or a escrow account.
