Beware of Gunbroker

I have 240+ transactions on Gunbroker since 2008 with an A+ rating and never had a problem. Most of these were pricey items not nickel / dime purchases, either. I always read the sellers feedback, and if there is any red flags, I do not deal with them. Gunbroker was sold a couple years ago to an outfit in California, and their track record leaves a bit to be desired .

But how should GB control sellers?

I'm under the impression that ALL GB sales are "as-is" unless specifically stated otherwise.

How about false advertising for one thing. So if a seller advertises a S&W revolver and sends you a Glock pistol..that's OK.

You’re complaining about $9.71?

Seriously?

I tell you what, you PM your name and address to me, and I’ll send you $10.

Wake up it's not about the funds just pointing out some info to potential buyers. I spend more money letting my car idle to warm up in the morning.

We are not talking about a firearm. We are talking about the wrong part being sent to you.

It's not false advertising, he sent you the wrong, miss marked part. He took it back, and he made you whole minus shipping and taxes/fees. Did he not?

GB denied you because as you stated it's Below Deductible. What's the deductible?

Am I missing something?

Does it really matter what he advertised and sold? Gunbroker is not policing their sellers PERIOD! You try to get answer from Gunbroker - they are not responsive

Guess you are OK with getting ripped off...like I mentioned it's not the dollar amount but being required to pay for the sellers mistakes and Gunbroker allowing him to get away with it.

. Yeah, it does. The fact is he sold you a miss marked part and took it back, minus shipping taxes and fees.

How do you want them to police seller? Specifically what do you want them to do?

I haven't had problems.

Who said I was OK with anything? I've never been ripped off. I've been on GB for 15+ years with hundreds of transactions. A+ rating.

Any problems I've had, I've had one, I worked it out with the seller. I didn't involve GB. Maybe it's just me.

I've never had to use the Ebay protection plan either. Again, maybe it's just me.

It does seem to be th e dollar amount.

If you're this upset, perhaps, maybe, using GB isn't for you.

Gunbroker does feel a very important need, for me at least. I am in Northern California valley area, and the laws here make it very challenging to collect anything but current production models. A dealer can’t sell a 14-6 or a 1989 vintage Classic Hunter as they aren’t certified for sale. The only way to get a classic is to go C&R or find a private party that will sell it to you face to face, known as a private party transfer. Consignment sales are few and far between.

I have found what I need on Gunbroker, and so far the dealers I’ve worked with are legit.

I’m looking for project pistols, basically a cheap J or K frames.

Won't buy anything from gunbroker...esp a gun. Have bought and sold 1000s of items on ebay..Have found in the past most firearm /reloading etc buyers on ebay to be pretty honest...but every now and then you will run up on an unscrupulous buyer...If youdo buy a mismarked item at least on ebay the buyer is more protected but of course there can be much more money involved on GB. Too much chance on BB to get scammed with shill bidding

I'm not crying but laughing at you:-)
