Free Shipping on Ammo At Brownells

I am beginning to think that I have smoked too many "funny cigarettes".

If I am correct, Brownells is proviiding free ground shipping on ammo. I buy MagTech .45 ACP 230 grain FMJ. Last night I bought ten boxes of this ammo for $12.99/box. At that time it was listed at regularly $18.99/box:

Brownells is providing free ground shipping (use Code M7V) and there is no sales tax unless you live Iowa. Not sure how much longer that this special will be available.

Note: The offer details state that free shipping is not is not
available on ammo, but since my order was > $99.00 I received the free shipping.

Yes..... this has been happening on and off for a few months now. I have taken advantage of it on 3 separate occasions so far as I always forget to order that one last item. Good for us consumers and good for Brownell's in the respect that they are still generating cash flow that might have otherwise been lost to others locally if people did not want to pay freight on only one item.

While they ARE cutting into their profit margins, they are probably still turning some what of a profit, still moving product, still generating sales and still making customers happy. Better a smaller profit than zero profit!

Just like chief38, I'm a really loyal Brownell's customer. I have never had a bad transaction, and their customer service department is always ready to help me, if needed.

The discounts for LEOs and military personnel is also a big plus.

I have regularly noticed that when I click on the "Click For Details" in the shipping or special code window it may state that the code/special is not valid on ammo (plus other products). However, when I complete my cart and apply the special code, it works. I also often change my order quantity to drive up the cart value to determine if there are price breaks for larger orders. There have been in the past - i.e. an additional $30.00 discount on a $300.00 order.

Also, as chief38 stated, Brownell's is certainly improving their cash flow with these sales instead of looking at all of that ammo in their warehouses. It also could be related to the fact that there are non-cancellable orders for orders that were placed last summer or fall. For whatever reason, it's a great buying opportunity for customers if you will need ammo now, or you'll need it in the future.

Now the link is showing any size order ships for 1¢. Hazmat fees excluded. There is no coupon code mentioned, but the details also say not valid for ammunition.

ETA: I just ordered 2 boxes of the Magtech 45 ACP. Shipping was indeed 1¢. I didn't enter any coupon codes.

Too bad I don't currently own a .45 ACP. Their prices on 38 SPL suck swamp water. Then again, the Walmart price sucks on that caliber too. The best deal I've been able to find locally, strangely enough, is at my local pistol range/gun store for $14.

The best deal I have ever found on 45 ACP ammo was back in March of this year. Academy was selling the 100 round box of Winchester 230 gr FMJ for $24.88. I bought two to qualify for free shipping over $25.

Went to the range to test out a few different new purchases, and the Magtech works just fine.

Best deal I got .45 for, was when Gearhog ran a deal for 500 rds of Freedom Munitions new loads, $107.
