Free Spinner Target from CCI

CCI ammo used in S&W revolvers

I was just told by a S&W customer service rep. that I could not shoot CCI ammo in my Model 18-7 combat masterpiece (What a joke this gun is) revolver chambered in 22LR because S&W's 22lr revolvers are not made to shoot high power ammo. In my gun after you shoot 4 or 5 rounds the gun freezes up. Cannot open cylinder can't pull trigger or move hammer. After you hit it with a rubber mallet a few times (this was performed by a gunsmith at pistol range) it will unlock and you can shoot maybe two more rounds and do it again. So I am looking for some REAL LOW POWER 22 ammo to target practice with. I have had two dealers tell me this info is a bunch of bull but a Customer Service Rep at S&W called me at home and told me this tale. Good luck with your 22 cal revolvers from S&W

Sounds like hogwash from S&W, to me, too. I've shot a lot of S&W .22 pistols and have never run into that problem, including my own 18-2 and M34. I don't know what that person is calling high powered ammo, but CCI isn't it, except possibly Stingers and they shoot fine in my revolvers.

Sounds like you need a GOOD S&W armorer to take a look at the pistol and find out what the actual problem is.

You also need to take this over to the pistol forum, rather than the 15-22 rifle forum.

I bought 2 bricks of the 40 grain ammo yesterday but I sm here in Canada. They have raised our prices slightly but there's no trouble to get it at all by the brick or 1600 count plastic case.

I used an order I got from Natchez online and printed my invoice out to send. Worked fine, already got the target

Perfect, I finally got two of the CCI Troy Landry boxes from Cabela's yesterday. First that I had gotten a shot at in months.

Natchez won't ship to Alabama or I could have snared some there.

I used a receipt from LAXammo online when I got that 5,000 round case. The date was older than what they said could be used but I just cut it off the page and sent it with cash. Worked just fine.

Mailed my online receipts from Cabela's to the Minnesota address on 6-3, and just got the target today (6-29). Not sure the RO will let me set this up where I go most of the time, but it's worth asking.

CCI standard velocity 1070 fps all over the place here......Being this low in fps, how well does it work in your 15 22s?

Works just fine. Anything over 1k is good to go. Quite often anything over 950 is good, too.

Many times, standard velocity yields superior accuracy over so-called high speed rounds.
