As temps hover in single digits, I figured i would join the forum. I must confess I have 2 addictions smiths and colts. My first smith was a model 17 to save money from buying .357 ammo for my first handgun a colt python. A 29-2 followed and bliss reigned for the next 20 plus years. Then I grew an appreciation for history, and decided I needed a 1917. I went to my local sporting goods store to buy a turkey license and they had a 1917 smith for sale. To think I almost passed because I thought the fouling cup was caused by flame cutting. It has since become my favorite. I enjoy reading the posts and by the way I can't believe some of you sell your guns !

Welcome from Texas amazin steve. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know. I for one am glad some have chosen to sell, otherwise, I would not be able to have some of the revolvers I now own.
