Saw this:
*8-Shot PC 627's to,9x23, .38 super, & 9mm
$275.00 (Gets re-cut for .38super clips)
**In regard to the caliber conversions, I do not recommend shooting .38/.357 case's in the cylinder once this conversion is done. The cases will fire form to the 9x23 case dimensions and they will most likely stick in the cylinder.

What really is the 9 X 23? Better than the .357?
The final winning answer in the 9mm discussion?
What other guns could be re-cut?
Would you do it? And why? Is this a good idea for a CCW in the right gun?
Thank you.

IMHO, the only rounds better than the .357 Magnum all begin with a "4" and not a "9"

Personally I wouldn't spend the money to do it.

I wouldn't waste the money on the conversion. None of those calibers are better than a 357 so I don't see the point.

Like anything else, it depends on what you want. Personally I wouldn't rechamber a full size .357mag but I did have Pinnacle High Performance convert a Model 360 .38spl to 9mm for BUG use and I couldn't be happier with it. I get much better performance than the .38, much less recoil than the .357, the convenience and fast reloading of moonclips, and ammo compatibility with my duty and off-duty guns. Also, it is chambered to 9x23 so I can shoot 9x23 and .38 Super as well, although I don't.

Mark at Pinnacle does excellent work at reasonable prices with reasonable turn around times. Here is a link to a thread about my gun, if you're interested in how it worked out.

I carry a 9x23 every day, but it is always in a 1911 of some sort. I just chronoed some through my converted 5" Aegis last weekend. WW White Box 124 JSPs ran 1531 fps., and some OLD 125gr. Silvertips went about 1420. (I usually get at least 50fps. more from later lots of Silvertips I've chronoed.) In a 4" revolver, how close you come to this will depend on many factors, including barrel-cylinder gap. My converted Aegis Ultras, with 3" barrels, run about 50-100fps. less than the above numbers, depending on the ammo lot. Reloading can better these numbers, but not by a lot, since factory MAP is way up there, around 48,000 PSI. You can learn most everything you want about 9x23 here: www.burnscustom.com Dane Burns is the Great Guru of the caliber.

You asked "what other guns?" Dane has done some 940s in 9x23, I know, because he told me. Most any .38 Super can be reamed to 9x23, since the case length is the same, and the 9x23 reamer mostly just cuts out the taper of the Super chamber. Actually, in most .38 Super autoloaders, the chambers are sloppy enough to shoot 9x23 without doing anything, but it is not the best practice.

I have known Tom at TK Custom for a long time and he does first class work. You will be happy with the craftsmanship if you have it done.
