I'm a local LEO and have used S&W Handguns professionally with great satisfaction. Starting back in '90 with my original Model 19, then on to my 5924, and finally my current back-up gun, my M&P Shield 9mm.

On a personal level, I primarily collect Late 1880's to WW1 Military Longarms.

Having S&W in our backyard is a great source of local recognition, and their guns are without doubt some of the best in the industry.

On a separate note, Not sure where I should post this, but I was recently given a Model 12-2 with serial number D241xxx.

Trying to find out the approx. Mfg Date ?

Thanks for Looking!
Bob

Welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania! Until a member pipes in with the date - you might consider jumping over to S&W Revolvers: 1961 to 1980...
