Some time ago, I ended up with a 3" barrel from the custom shop, for a model 60 that has the ported barrel, and the dovetail for a front sight.

Anybody know which sight goes in the dovetail? Is it one of the sights from another model, like the autos? I'd like to get a nite site for it, just need to figure out which one it is.......

Be nice if it was some standard sight.

Look at Novaks Gunsmithing first.
Then try Milletts

Might even be a Cylinder and Slide sight.

If you've got a Brownell's gunsmithing catalog might find the answer under Model 60 Parts.

I'll try there......... woulda thought they would have just used a sight from their normal inventory. I've had the barrel for 10 years probably, I don't think C&S was doing any sights for Smith then, but I could be wrong.

BTW, called S&W parts department. They said without the serial number of the gun, they would have no way of knowing what the front sight would be. I explained the barrel wasn't on a gun, he said no way to know then........

Wonderful..... guess I can measure the dovetail and go from there.....

Just got a response back from Novaks.....

"We don't make revolver sights"......

I explained again that it's just a dovetail sight......

Oh well....
