I been playing musical front sights with the 1905 32/20 I picked up awhile back. It had a square blade .059” pinned in slot milled in old sight shank. Much to thin and it is fairly high. I’ve made 3 sights so far. The first 2 made of brass and a little more holster friendly. The 3rd steel, so I could blue and was going for McGivern bead. Then made mistake of checking out the S&W classifieds. I see a 38/44 HD conversion to 45 with adjustable sight and pinned front. Now I must go back to drawing board. The front sight on this gun is perfect contour for holster and more important a well defined top. The biggest PIA making these front blades by hand is to thin .10” equal sides to the .059” slot.
