Got a NIB 627-5 Performance Center 5" for target and possibly ICORE use. I like the gun but need to replace the front gold bead front sight. My old eyes just don't cut it. Thoughts on replacements would be appreciated. Would like to install myself, but don't have a lot of experience with wheel guns.

Thanks to all

The 627-5 should have interchangeable front sights. Look from the muzzle end, and if there is a hole in the sight body, the sights are interchangeable. You can use any fiber optic sight that is the same height that you can buy from Smith, SDM, Dawson, Dillon etc. To change, grasp the front sight on the front and pull back, and then upward.

As mentioned, it's a quik change that you can do in seconds. The Hi-Viz green sight works well for me.

Thanks guys. Just to confirm that the Performance Center 627-5 with 5" barrel has a DX front sight? SDM shows both on their site. Doesn't look like Hi-Viz makes a front sight for this specific gun or I am reading their site wrong?

Thanks sir Confirming that .250 is factory height? Of course that height in green is back ordered. I do have a set of Cylinder & Slide Extreme fixed sights, but have read not to install fixed on a competition/target gun. My 686 carries them, but I carry that off duty CCW. Thanks just getting back into Smith wheel guns and always like to learn.
