I have heard of them, but never been down there. A couple from my local club went down for one of their week long handgun courses and each got an M&P included in the cost (that was a few years ago). They were both beginners and said they learned a lot from the course.

I've likened Front Sight to McDonalds. They do an adequate job and they do it over and over for thousands and thousands. It's not top tier training, IMO, but you get a good solid return on your investment, just like a Big Mac.
Decent training, pretty horrible marketing. People will still bring up very old issues like Scientology or their old plans to build a housing complex out there where some speculators didn't get what they felt they paid for and filed lawsuits, etc., but the reality is they don't even seem to bother trying to sell memberships during the courses any longer...just the 400 or so emails you'll get each year from them.
They do a nice job of getting someone who's never touched a firearm before to be competent and safe with it, in the case of pistols getting them to a point where they can draw from 'concealment' (i.e. having to move some piece of clothing first) and getting hits within a few seconds.
If you haven't taken training elsewhere with someplace reputable, and if the cost of membership or class, travel, and lodging is lower than elsewhere, I feel it's worth a shot. For me, it's a combination of being the closest place and having the lowest cost to get there for a class...an entire course/travel/lodging often ends up costing less than just the course fee at other places near me.
P.S. - Just about no one pays the list prices for classes that they have. Certificates for courses, and inexpensive memberships, are plentiful, there are just prohibitions on how they can be advertised.
