I am the original owner of this Model 66-3, 3-inch barrel, purchased new in 1992. The serial number indicates a build date of June, 1992. Other than a few range sessions immediately after purchase totaling less than 2 boxes of ammo, this gun has been a safe queen.
Cosmetically and mechanically this gun is 99.9%. The cylinder timing is perfect on all six chambers, with the cylinder indexing in double-action well before the hammer falls. There is no side-play in the crane when viewing the crane-frame gap. With the hammer cocked, there is no front-to-back play in the cylinder. This gun is tight and well assembled!
This model has the pinned front sight blade feature and comes with two front sights; a post-style currently installed and the original stainless ramp with red insert.
I had also purchased a set of S&W Goncalo Alves finger-groove combat stocks which are installed and included. The left panel was relieved at the top to provide speed loader clearance and refinished.
This gun also includes the original box, registration card, tools, literature and compact walnut stocks as shown in the photos below.
