Just heard on news that a shooting has taken place on Ft. Hood in Texas. 7 killed and 20 wounded. 3 shooters 1 of which has been caught. I know alot of forum members have family in service, hope all are safe.

I hear they got the one shooter "neutralized", and they have one cornered. The other one is still unaccounted for, and the base is on lockdown and it is the biggest base in the country. FBI is headed to the scene and the base and website is closed. All units are to report a 100% accountability of all personnel. 7 known dead and 12-15 wounded. This kind of senseless crap is what is ruining it for all of us here who are responsible gun owners. I just can't imagine what sets them kind of people off, 3 shooters at that....dumb a** wackos!!!

This is what happens when we have a President obsessed with passing socialist healthcare while completely neglecting homeland security, terrorist motivated or otherwise. This is Obama's fault!..... Wait a minute! Don't get mad. Of course it ain't his fault, but if this happenened a year and a half ago it would be blamed on Bush. And just watch. It will anyway. On Fox news, the shooter, who was reported to be a soldier, has been shot dead. Two other soldiers have been called "suspects" and have been detained. One of the dead was a civilian police officer.

I wonder if the soldiers in this mess tried to get mental treatment and couldn't. This seems to be a serious problem in the military, and for their families.
The more frequently soldiers serve in combat zones where little real progress is being made, the more stressed-out soldiers there'll be.

Just heard that the shooter had two handguns...not an M16. He must have been pretty well trained to kill 12 soldiers with two handguns.

Some speculation that the assassination of the Seattle police officer is the start of something............now Ft. Hood......? That's near Killeen, where the Denny's? assassinations took place 15 or so years ago.

They are now reporting that the shooter was an officer (a Major) who was scheduled for deployment. Fox news and Senator Hutchison have the name but they are not going to release it until the Army does. They made a very strange statement though. They said the name itself was "telling".
