I went to the Ft. Myers gun show at the Robert E. Lee civic center today. Once I got past all of the beef jerky, bump stock, lens cleaner, stun gun, my holster is better than your holster, knife, pepper spray, and tomahawk vendors, there were the 47 tables of Shoot Straight guns. I was actually looking for a no-lock 340PD, and Lo and behold, Shoot Straight had one...a used one...with $999 price tag on it. I passed. I saw a nice pre 27 that was going for 1650, an HK P7 (another one on my short list) for 1200, but it was a little beat up and no box. I saw quite a few of the new “classic” series N frames with the IL. It was interesting and fun. I didn’t buy or sell anything, but I had a nice outing with my 14 y/o daughter. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

Good to hear you and daughter had time spent. As far a gun shows haven't been to one now in about 5 or more years. Centeral Florida had one every month and still does at civic center. No real deals to be ever had. I bought some .380 ammo in 09 when it was like pulling teeth to find. Always wall to wall folks. I think that was the time a lady in her 20's drowned me with a 7 11 big gulp soda ice and all all over me and vendors booth . She didnt apologise to either.VENDOR was thrilled to have his table soaked in coke. I think I went back a few years latter.

I can't say that I attend many shows anymore except when I need ammo or accessories but glad you guys had an enjoyable time.

I, too, have just about given up on shows. Seems many vendors are not interested in moving guns, rather crowing about their wares and refusing to bargain. The 340PD the OP mentioned at a cool thou is an example. Prefer shopping at LGS's where my repeat business is respected. As others have posted, it can be a fun time if you attend with little in the way of expectations and like to meet folks.

Take from VERY FIRST HAND experience... Do NOT leave a Shoot Straight table with out bargaining a bit ( or more);););)

Best price.. Better price.. " And the world famous " CASH deal right now" LOL

Good luck next time.. :D:D

If I had cash, maybe. But I don’t like dealing with SS as a general rule. I brought a very nice Sig P224 Equinox with me that I was looking to trade for a 340, then maybe an N frame as a second choice. I knew they might come down 150 or 200 on the 340, but then offer me something like 400 or 450 for mine. I think Khalid’s philosophy is to always bilk you out of a few greenbacks in addition to hosing you on your trade when he has a gun you want.

I've mentioned this.....

But gun shows I've been to are 90% local vendors selling the exact thing they sell in their stores. It would be very lucky to see something that you want. The accessory vendors are my favorites. I find common components that no one in town stocks. My lgs has an entire aisle of bullets, but finding something I want even in .357 or .30 cal is hopeless.

I can attest to Shoot Straight having some real deals, but you have to know what you're looking at and bargain. They're in business. You know, to make a profit. Of course they ask the most they think they can get. The ultimate answer is to walk away, but to not even ask.....ok.

I bought a couple of guns from Shoot Straight. They were willing to beat any price and beat them they did. I went to their store after a local show in Ft.Lauderdale and they gave me a better price than their show special. Then again, this is on a new firearms.

I didn't even drop a name. ;) and you know who you are..... :p

If'n you buy the "gunshow special" you can get a deal. Khaled had SW 642's, 637's for $349 recently and Kahr CW or CT 9's for $249. Trade with Khaled and he gets your gun free, you get his near cost. Joe
