I have an almost new Sport II, and am gathering some spare parts for it. I found a nickle Boron BCG on sale for about $100 and thought it would make a good back up for the stock BCG if I have any problems, plus I think it looks real cool in that finish versus the black stock color.

The only difference I see is it is a full auto BCG while my Sport II has a semi auto Bolt Group. Will this cause any problems? Can I use the full auto bolt group in the sport? What differences in performance should I expect?

Thanks,

Rick

Yes, you can use it. No, it won't cause problems. I doubt you will see any performance difference.

As cypherrtext said, it won't make any difference in the function of your rifle.
A semi auto bolt carrier won't work in a select fire rifle though.

In fact, many folks prefer the full auto bolt carriers.

I am a soon to be AR Noob and would like to know what advantage does the Auto Bolt carrier have ? Thanks

A full auto carrier is just a bit heavier than the semi-auto carrier and will slow down the firing cycle, battering the gun less and is easier on your brass. Just how much is open to conjecture.

Thankyou very much!
