Two months using the S&W M&P 9mm full size. I don't shoot it as much as I like to. But using it for class room demonstrations, I get to operate the controls a lot. As it is now it is box stock. I find the grip more comfortable, and points better than the Glocks I've shot. I like the take down better than the Glock system. I have found that I shoot it as well as I shoot the Glock 17, or 19. It has been very reliable, the only problem being a mag that wouldn't feed. I blame that on being dropped in the mud numerous time at a match. After cleaning the mag, I have not been able to duplicate the problem. Overall I find it to be a fine gun. I guess the question will it hold up like a Glock? I will continue to shoot it in the stock configuration for a while, During that time I will decide what I want to do.

Most likely it will. The M&Ps have been proving themselves but only time will tell

I might add that if anything did happen,
and thats a big IF; the M&P comes with a
lifetime warranty!

The fellows that are running several tens of thousands of rounds through them each year in IDPA sanctioned matches are getting good reliability and S&W is providing maintenance support at the major matches, which is a huge plus. Lack of factory support makes some good guns scarce at major matches.
Having watched a few Glocks choke at every major match I've shot in, I am perhaps not so inclined to hold them up as perfection. Shoot any gun enough and it will break; that's why I take 2 guns and some spare pieces.

When dealing with ankle deep mud, a bucket of water at each stage facilitates rinsing the mud out of dropped mags and speedloaders. Surprisingly effective.
