I recently sold off a Glock 22 and purchased an M&P40FS to replace it. Still own several 9mm Glocks though.

Anyway, I am shooting low with my new M&P40. Regarding the point of aim, if you were shooting for bulls-eye, do you cover the bulls-eye circle with the front dot? I have been trying the 6 o'clock hold and my shots are low. When I cover the bulls-eye with my front dot, I have much better results.

The only problem with this is that I feel like I lose sight of my intended target. With my Glocks, I hold right on the bottom of my target and that works well for me. I'm wondering if I can buy a shorter front sight maybe to help me out.

Any suggestions? Thank you much.

only speaking for myself and noting my experience is less than many others here, but i put my front dot on the bullseye regardless if shooting my MP's (currently have FS and Shield 9mm's, also had a compact 9 and all 3 were good out of the box) or my asst .22's.
That said, the furthest I've shot has been 25 yds and near all my time now is at an indoor range up to 10 yds.
And with my grandpa eyesight and focusing on the sights not the target, it seems to work well for me.

MY FS40 is POA/POI like yours. I actually prefer this over the 6 o'clock hold.

M&P"s ate combat POA put the dot on what you want to hit. They are SD guns and were not meant for bullseye target shooting. That said you can change the sights but the gun will never be a competition bullseye gun, but then the price of one is a lot less also.
