Any opinions , pro or con, on the full sized, scandium frame 108286?

a lot of people have them including me. I havent heard any complains about them.

I have a chance to get a NIB one.....I think I'd better act....do you know if the slide finish is Melonite?

one for sale for ya brand new in box in classifieds or contact me.

Went ahead and got it.....$775 NIB.....approved this afternoon for duty carry....pics when the camera shows up....Buds has them for $852 delivered...

Do these have steel feed ramps? My aluminum framed Kimber does not and it concerns me a bit.

Appear to be part of the scandium frame.....I had the commander sized version a while back....shot the fool out of it with no problems what-so-ever...fed wide mouth hollow points (like our issued 185 Gold Dot +P) with no issues. Never carried it on duty. I will this one.

That helps me feel better. I have never had an issue with mine either but I only have about 600 rounds through it. The aluminum feed ramp still looks almost like new.

My experience with alloy frame 1911's FWIW, is that they're fine with skirted follower magazines, The non-skirted mags, like McCormick, chew up the alloy ramp on feeding the last round of the mag. Stick with mags like Wilson or Kimber TacPro, & you're OK. Oh, I forgot to mention, Kimber sometimes includes a non-skirted mag with a new alloy frame pistol, seems they would know better, guess not though.
