I first shot my couger 40 cal S &W pistol then moved on to my M & P 15 and people just couldnt believe the groupings on her at 50 yards then I broke out my "Sweet thing" the M & P 15-22 and boy did I get looks and questions on her, I even let one guy who had his son out firing try her as he was thinking on buying either a 15-22 or a 10-22 and after firing the 15-22 is much more inclined to go with her :D

I find it interesting that every range trip I get a lot of questions on my M & P 15 and 15-22 the majority is on the 15-22.

That's pretty typical. On any given weekend, there's almost always four or five 15-22s on the line at my range.

I was at my LGS this morning and there were six people in line filling out the paperwork for 15-22s. This dealer seldom has less than a couple of dozen in stock, including PC and RealTree models. He gets shipments every couple of weeks. I've never heard of him being out of them.

i always make it a point to ask anyone with kids at the range if they want to try out the 15-22. even if they arent looking to purchase one, it makes me feel good to know i made their day just shooting it. :)

I found a good deal on CCI mini-mags at wally's world 1600 for $98 since thats only .02 more then federal and my groups are cut in half with CCI mini mags, I picked up a box :D

The 15-22 is always an attention getter when we go to the range.
A few weeks ago I was burping out some impressive fireballs from my 7" AR pistol and three different people stopped and asked about the 15-22 that was laying on the bench beside me... NOT the flame-throwing 5.56mm in my hands!
We also see a lot of folks that we've let try the 15-22 over the past couple of years now showing up with 15-22's of their own. It's just a great gun that people like!

I think letting others try your stuff is just a friendly thing to do. Couple weekends ago my son and I were getting ready to leave the range when I spotted a Steyer AUG A3. I knew my 16yr old would drool over it, so I asked the owner if he could just hold it. The guy said no problem, here's 5 rounds, go shoot it. My son had the biggest grin and it just made his day.

It's nice to be able to make someones day with such a simple gesture.

I'm a firm believer in... if not Karma, then at least paying it forwards a bit.

I always take extra eye and ear protection to the range. Generally the cheaper stuff I'll admit, but they are all rated. A couple of times I've lent them out to people who have arrived and forgotten theirs. Complete strangers at that.

On more than one occasion I didn't get them back because I ended up leaving the range before they did. Sometimes they eventually turn up, other times they don't. But it is literally a small price to pay to let someone have a great day at the range.

I don't think we've been to the range even once where we didn't let a random stranger try out the .44. always a good time.
