Playing a little more with my 4 inch 617, I was getting a little bit of spitting of lead, enough that my shooting partner complained he was getting hit every once in a while.

Long story short, ( I know, too late ) I searched for my forcing cone cutter for .22s. I looked in every toolbox and drawer in my garage but couldn't find it. Called my friend that I know I lent it too years ago but he couldn't find it or the new one he bought for himself.

Just when I was going to reorder from Brownell's I get a call from my buddy. He found mine. I retrieved it, looked for my T-handle, and easy find, right where it was supposed to be, and I found my bottle of cutting oil.

It's an 11* cutter. I just wanted to break the edge. Good thing because it's harder metal than I remember. I dressed it slightly and now I get to shoot it tomorrow and hopefully that saves him from getting splatter.

I'll go to the Public Outdoor Range North of Phoenix ( Ben Avery Shooting Facility ) and use my DS-10 speed loaders and blocks to have some fun. Love the DS-10s, they help me go through lots of ammo in a little amount of time. They also work great for charging the gun between runs at our monthly Steel Challenge matches.

I love a story with a happy ending! But I'm confused. You mention a Model 67, but that cylinder has way too many flutes for a six shooter. Is it perhaps a Model 617?

Thanks for the correction. It's been updated. Yes, it's a 617.
