While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'm not sure how I feel about this. Hamre Forge, the company that supplied the additional grips for some of the Lipsey UC offerings, is making a Fuzzy Farrant copy for round-butt J-frames. Right down to offering the same options as the original Fuzzy's - palm swells / one or both sides, checkering / one or both sides. They are being made out of the same material (proprietary?) as their AFR grips. Does this add to or detract from original Fuzzy Farrant grips? How do you feel?

Adios,

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I checked out their website and I'm all for this style grip being more available. My only issues are that they don't offer them for a wider variety of manufacturers and models, and that they are not available in wood.

Detracts.

You can’t compare to the vintage Fuzzy’s in terms of quality or panache. I own two sets.

I certainly will not support a modern fake, plastic ripoff.

If you or others like the way Farrants feel in the hand and they can duplicate that, I would think that is a good thing. Can't send off an order for Farrants anymore.
