I have a galco speed paddle holster and it is virtually brand new, meaning it isn't broke in yet, and MAN is this thing tight! I have loosened the tension screws as loose as I can safely do and I am still pulling the holster off before I can get the pistol out, any tips or suggestions?

Is it kydex or leather? If leather, it should loosen up over time.

If Kydex, heat it a little with a hair dryer, put your gun in it and should reform some. You might have to move the gun around a little bit to expand it. Do this while you have the screw loosened a bit so you will have the ability to tighten it down in the future.

If it is still too tight after some repeated draws, put the gun in a sandwich baggie and leave it in over night...but loosen the screw...if you do it with the srew tightened down, you won't have the option of making it tighter down the road...

I have a galco and the retention strap needed a little stretching, but the holster was never as tight as you describe.

I've found a heavy sock also will work, but the baggie is a little better, especially if you get one of the thicker freezer bags...

One of the companies I think it is Galco makes a break in lubricant I have two leather inside the pants revolver and auto Galco's, both treated and both fit like a glove.

If you need name of product I will find it and post it.

I had the same issue with a Galco Royal Guard I bought years ago. I picked up in the store, put it on and stuffed the gun in it. Two hours later I couldn't draw the gun from the holster without turning it upside down and "tapping" the gun out. I left the gun in place for two days which streched the holster enough to use. 14 years later the holster still serves well and has a lot of future use in it.

Great catch and advice on the screw sipowicz but I make sure it's a 4 mil plastic bag. A few hours with the gun in it some draws in between will speed up the process. If it's still tight let it set overnight inside the bag.

DO NOT wet or spray the holster with ANY solution to aid in the stretching process.

well I followed sips advise and the holster is awsome now, a bit far away from the body but great for slapping on to go to the store, but it put's the gun in a perfect draw position!
