Gander Mountain $&%3#ed me... but fixed it

I wouldn't worry much. The last Gander order that it happened to was back in stock 2 days later and my backorder shipped.

(snip)

Thousands of online orders per minute has got to bog down even the best computer ordering systems is my guess.

Right.

Ya got to take the environment into consideration. It's like griping at the cable company for an interruption during a hurricane. And let there be no doubt, in stock .22 ammo is hit with no less than a cat5 storm of rimfire shooters. :D

The biggest gougers in my neck of the woods have been the indepedant gun stores although one of them remained sane with their prices though they never had much in stock.

I just got off the phone with "Kelsey" at Gander; She apologized for the delay, stated that their "system got backed up" and in fact they had received "additional stock" and in fact my order was in the warehouse "right now" and being packed to ship; I should have it in 5-7 days.

T plus seven hours; still no shipping confirmation or any email. i guess packing up and labelling 5 little boxes is a lot harder than it sounds.

Check out the 22lr ammo in stock thread. Cabela's has 2100 rounds of Federal w/ ammo box for $99.99

Some people are crazy, IMO.

Hang out a little longer and watch that price continue to go down. As u can see, its already went down. And its becoming more and more available.

Update. I now have notification of shipment. I updated the thread title to show they are working to fix this.

Glad it worked out for you.

In general, Gander Mountain does a pretty good job. I've used them four times in the past six months..

Final update; my ammo was waiting for my on the front porch last night when I got home - three days ahead of estimated delivery.

Packing was acceptable. One of the plastic boxes was cracked, but they break pretty easy, & it could well have been that way when it got to GM.

Final verdict: They messed up but they fixed it, no harm (I didn't miss out on any range time) so no clear foul.

I will consider buying from them again in future, thanks to their follow-through.

Ironically enough I just had this same thing happen with Cheaperthandirt.com. I ordered 10 boxes of CCI AR at 04:20 in the morning, getting the same "confirmation email", and having my credit card debited, only to get an email 3 days later that they had oversold their drop-shipment allotment.

I have some 22LR in the house, but hate to go shooting to see the inventories slowly deplete.

Glad to know they stepped up, I am wondering if I should do the same with CTD.....

Don't count on it - CTD has been screwing lots of folks over lately based on the comments I've seen across the various forum's I'm on...
