Gas Block/Front Sight Recommendations - M&P15 Sport

Hey All,

I have been searching recently for a suitable gas block setup and front sight replacement, but I am not sure of the ideal route to go. This is where I am hoping for recommendations from others on here who may have done the same on their M&P15's or other similar AR's.

To be honest, I kind of like the standard A2 post, but I decided I want the ability to have a folding front sight post. While searching online, I found this product from A.R.M.S. Inc. and it is almost entirely what I am looking for.

Can anyone tell me what route they went and why they went that route with their setups? This would be very helpful to me since I am not sure which of the many setups to choose, so I am relying on the expertise of others on this forum.

Good lookin rifle! I took my front sight/gas block off and put on a railed gas block. I had no need for the front sight and didn't like the way it looked. I like the one you picked out, but more importantly you like it.

Which railed gas block did you go with? I suppose this is another route I could go as well now that I think about it.

I went with a YHM-9835-H folding front sight/gas block. I only have 150 or so rounds on it, but love it so far.

I have a YHM 2 railed block. If I had it to do over, I would get an adjustable gas block though.

I still call mine a Sport, there are some great folding front sights. I really like the one you are looking at. If I was shooting close range I would change my rifle but I am shooting distance and enjoying it.
