Time to buy a new gas grill. I am looking at a Weber Spirit E-210, but am looking for suggestions. I don't want charcoal and don't want to break the bank. Actually, the Weber may be more than I want to spend. Any ideas? Thanks.

I just bought one of these, Char-Broil | Commercial Series and I'm really impressed. I had a buddy over for some Sunday football action and he's a total charcoal snob and he was impressed. It cooks awesome. It does not dry the meat out like cheaper direct heating gas grills. Got it on sale at Lowes for just over $200. BTW, they are not BSing about the infrared cooking, it's the real deal. It's how the high end restaurants cook their steaks and chops. I looked at other IR grills at a specialty store and they started at a grand and went up from there.

After experiences with Holland, Kenmore and others, Weber is going to be my next grill. I will bite the bullet and pay the piper. Have a natural gas hook-up so they are even more costly for a conversion grill.
I've had a Weber for the past 15 years. Changed the regulator, I think it's called, once. I'm on my second cover. Works great. The cover keeps it looking like new.

Well, as a gasman I know a little about grills but not everything. Like everyone Weber makes good/better/and best grills.
If you want to buy a grill that will last you a lifetime buy a stainless steel grill with a cast brass or stainless burner. Many use stamped stainless burners and they aren't that great, cast is the way to go. Even a cast iron burner will last a lifetime with proper maint.
Grill body is also important, you want something that won't rust away in a few years. Cast Aluminum is good, heavy stainless is better.
I have a stainless Bubba's Oven that is about 10 years old, looks and works like it did when it was new.
Next, stay away from fancy features, it's a grill not a commercial range. Electronics don't perform well on grills at this time, maybe one day.
The best grill on the market right now in my opinion is the Wilmington Grill, made in Wilmington NC, it's pricey but worth every penny.
If you don't want to go that route (stainless/stainless) buy the cheapest grill you like, make it cheap cheap, then it won't bother you to throw it away in few years.

If you are after a grille to last a while, make sure ALL the parts are stainless steel. I have had several stainlees steel grilles fail because a crucial part was not made of stainless steel, and either was no longer made or the company failed (Ducane, bought by Weber and discontinued). I jumped up to a higher priced grille, but there has been no rusting parts in 9 years- kind of a record for me. They also tend not to revise parts every model year.

I purchased my SS Ducane about 10 years ago. Had it converted to run on natural gas. On my second cover. Buy more than you can afford since you will ake out in the long run. Have it converted to run on natural gas and you never have to worry about running out of fuel.

I have a Weber Spirit 210. It's a very good grill , but a little uneven heat. If ya can , get the 310. Well worth it. It'll last a lifetime. Parts are available anywhere.
Whatever ya get , make sure it has stainless steel burners. I gutted my old gas grill and made a stainless charcoal tray when I couldn't get a new burner.
Just remember , universal fit parts fit no grill in this universe.
A friend just got one , can't remember the brand , two lids. Half gas , half charcoal.

How many people are you wanting to cook for?
We’ve had a Weber Geniuses gas grill about 5 years; it’s used year round and has never failed us. Just keep it clean and use good quality gas. My only regret is we did not get one sooner.
I like a convertible grill for LP and and Nat Gas. Costco's Tuscan fit our needs with available burner kits. Stainless w/infrared burners and a rotisserie for about $475 with the burner kit. There is no tank to refill and it has worked well.

We have the Weber 310 and have never had a lick of trouble with it. Built very solid and lights every time and cooks evenly. I think you will be happy with a Weber. We cook on it year round so it gets heavy usage and has never failed. Good luck!!
we had a weber genesis for 22 years and bought another brand (looked fancier) to replace it even though the weber was working fine. Gave the weber to a friend. Now in a smaller house, we will be getting another weber in the spring.

We bought our first Weber in 1993 and used it average 3-4 times a week year round for almost 18 years! (and we live in Michigan) They make a great product. If something wears out, replacement parts are reasonable and EVERYTHING can be replaced if needed. We decided to upgrade this summer (gave the old one to my daughter) and got the Weber Genesus E330. It has a sear station which puts a nice sear on steaks. Also, this model has cast hood with ceramic coating. We were talked into not getting the stainless because it is more difficult to keep clean. Glad we listened to him. The ceramic looks good and is does not spot like stainless. Anyway, if you get a Weber you won't be disappointed!

I am cooking for 1-4 people.
For all you Weber users, do they ever go on sale in your area? I asked a long-time Home Depot employee and they said that they could not ever remember them on sale. The main reason that I am looking to Home Depot is that they get a "free" upgrade to the Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates. This a normally about a $65 upgrade.

Just an update. Had the first meal on our new Weber E-310 Genesis natural gas grill from Lowes. Well worth the money, they assembled it and a daughter got it for me with her military discount. When the SIL gets back from A-stan the steaks will be waiting.
