Any excuse to raise gas prices is better than the real reason.
The last time we had skyrocketing gasoline prices I had a tenant who was big in the oil industry. Keep in mind the prices then were not what we are apporaching nowadays.
He used to openly state he wanted gasoline to be $6/gallon and talked about how much money he was going to make off of it. "The sky's the limit" as he used to put it.
Guy sold his business eventually and moved on with his millions that he proudly boasted he got using the old addage "by any means necessary".
I always remember what this guy said anytime gasoline prices shoot up and various, silly reasons are given for it (Putin did it,etc.etc).
It's called "price gauging".
Just sayin' (rolling eyes)
