Blue Bunny Ammo is gauging interest in a commercial run of .45auto rim, specially for .45acp revolvers. Easier loading at the range and the brass can be reloaded very hot.
Most people who have loaded this caliber are dead.

I am not dead.
Last batch was done for me by a commercial loader in Florida, think I still have some. But don't currently have a .45 ACP revolver.
A whole lot more fun than shooting with Moon clips and a lot easier to handle. If I can find another gun I may just be interested in getting some more ammo.

Rabbi,

Some of us are still kicking.

The AR is easy to load and has all those advantages you mentioned.

I think Black Hills still loads it in a red box. They have it at one of the gun shops I haunt for around $40 a box. I have never bought any because I have a hundred or more moon clips, it's just too quick and easy with the simple tools.

I would like to have something geared toward a good self defense load, a LSWCHP like the FBI load in a 38 special would be a good start.

I'm still kickin and I reload for it but, I must admit some people think I'm brain dead!!

I'm always interested in new ammo for the AR. FWIW, I have a portable reloading set up that lives in the back of the truck. Very handy at the range. The two die sets that I always carry are 45 ACP/AR and 38/357.

In the last few years, the AR has pretty much replaced the 44 SPL for me.

That is kind of what I had in mind, getting out of the 44 spl business and going AR....

Georgia Arms(or Ammo, I forget which), sold .45 auto-rim at very reasonable prices loaded in new brass before all of this run on ammo hurt them. Check and see if they are up and running again. It's 230 grain lead RN, but gets the job done.

Both Buffalo Bore & Corbon have 45 AR ammo - I have not tried the Corbon, but the BB stuff is very nice.

Take care,
Bob S.
