Years ago I worked in a hospital for about 10 years. I have not been sick since then. I believe that I developed an immunity to being sick since I was around sick people all day long. Currently work for the Health Department. I can get the flu shot for free, but have opted out for the last 6 years. Only time I ever got one was during in-processing when I was deployed to Kuwait.

Got a flu shot last week during a routine visit to my doctor.

He, of course, recommends it.

Have a neighbor who is a retired doctor. He says it's nonsense.

However, I do believe that children under 15 are disease carrying critters and being around any of my 11 grandchildren at Halloween time is scary.

More important, have you gotten your shingles shot?

I haven't gotten it yet but I will. The problem with the shot is that the CDC determines which strains they will defend against based on the most likely to appear. That leaves a host of other strains unaccounted for. Still, better to have the shot than not, IMO. Ask your doc before getting it if you or any of your family members have ever had Giome Barre disease.

Not only NO..but hell no! The flu shot you get is for the one that was prevalent last year..They have no way to know what flu is gonna be the biggie this year. Back when they gave the swine flu vaccine there were more people that died from the shot than died from the "epidemic". Shingles? I guess it may be worthwhile but doesn't seem to keep you from contracting shingles but does make them less severe.. And if advanced age it may be worthwhile to have the pneumonia shot. Back when I was working in the fire dept they required us to have all that crapo..including a whole mishmash of other thingies but I was working as a firefighter/paramedic....and I don't know what they shot us with before going to SE Asia..

No, heck no, way too much hype to get "it" and it seems more and more every year we hear the old, well we missed again this year and the vaccine isn't right but it will still help. blah blah blah,

It's a cash cow for somebody and it ain't us.

Wash your hands, push doors open with your arm and don't touch your face.

Haven't been sick in decades.

PS there are enough chemicals in my system from the food additives and beef growth hormones and animal antibiotics.

I caught the flu in 2009 AND 2010. I thought I was going to die both times. I've had a shot every year since and no flu. Did they work or just coincidence? Don't know, don't care. If it gives me even a 1% edge, I'm doing it!!!!

The sickest I've ever been was during the Hong Kong flu epidemic in 1968, when I was 19, and never want to repeat that. So I'm getting the flu shot. Even if it's only 10 per cent effective, it's better than nothing.

Two old guys about my age who work at the LGS have both had shingles, and they fervently recommended the shingles vaccine. So I got that one.

NO way jose! I've been around kids teaching kids tennis for 16 years..I never get a flu shot...no thanks! I build my my immune system with exercise, an amazing eating plan, herbs & vitamins, fasting, and ACV. OH, and dark beer. :-D

Got mine yesterday.
If they have added mind control, that isn't apparently working.

Realtor Bob, who oddly enough did drop dead of a sudden heart attack, claimed that the nannites will only be activated when the shape shifting Reptoids (or were they Reptillians....) overtly seize power and crowd the humans, at least those who did not smoke, into pens to be dissolved in vats of hydrogen peroxide and used as food for the grey aliens.

The Queen of England is their leader and eats human babies.

Though for full disclosure, Realtor Bob did smoke a lot of crack.

I voted for the 3rd choice - last time I got the flu (many years ago) was when I got the shot for the first time. Opting out works for me but YMMV.
