I feel great other than weird aches and pain from my shoulder and ankle. I still can't put weight on my foot. But I am allowed to wiggle it a little. The incision is taking longer than I thought it would to heal. But it will get there. Its going to take a long time to regain strength in my bad arm. I'm not letting it get to me. All this is just a speed bump in life.

I posted a thread about roll bars in my Torino. I decided not to do that. I probably doesn't need it anyway. I have ideas for paint. I'm going to paint it myself. I thought blue, white racing stripes and quilted tan interior. I'm not going to be able to afford to buy brand new wheels, seats or much of anything. So I will have to hunt parts that I can buy used but in good shape. I kinda like those slotted mags from Starsky and Hutch. Or mag wheels.
My car had the original rear seat. I all as well redo it. I need front bucket seats. Ford made many bucket seats through out the 70s and 80s with head rest I can afford. I can get them reupholster. I will just use whatever I find for it. I bought a full set of Stewart Warner stage 3 gauges for my C30. I even got some dash turn indicator lights and highbeam light. I got all that to make a new gauge bezel. Since the C30 is not really in workable condition. I decided to use them in my Torino. I can probably use a Cyclone dashpad. That would free up space to make a gauge cluster bezel. The problem is the fact I will lose that cool pod look the original dash gave my car.
I already talked about my 427 and C6 transmissions on this forum. I'm going to get my 427 close to the original look as possible. I want it to have that old black paint with chrome valve covers. Depending on what parts I end up with. My torino might have a 70s or 80s custom car look. I hope it doesn't look corny. lol

If I can rebuild my C30. I'm going to keep it simple. I want to paint it matt red with a stake bed. I will reuse my current flatbed if possible. But it will probably be for show only.

Magnum, your problem is you've got nothing to do. Lol. I've been healing from a pretty extensive back surgery I had in February. I'm going nuts out of boredom. I keep thinking of things to do after recovery. I think we're in the same boat

glad you are on the mend..
make as detailed a list as possible of parts & tasks... pictures when possible... looking forward to the Operation Torino

My car needs a complete overhaul. Luckily the rust isn't to bad. It had none when I first bought it nearly 10 years ago. It sat for a long time. Some has formed. Luckily it will be simple to fix. The worst is the transmission tunnel. The previous owners gutted the transmission tunnel to fit a old V-gate shifter. I haven't decided what to do about that yet. The reason why I haven't finished the car is mostly my fault. And life in general. I always dreamed of having a 427 FE. I couldn't find one earlier in my build. Do I decided to rebuild and stroke the 302 that was already in my car. So I got a cross ram for it and got ready buy better parts. Than I came across a new in box 460 engine block. So I bought that and sold what I got for the 302. But I couldn't bring myself to build the 460. Then 2020 came along and I found my 427 FE. A near perfect core. It's a really really good Chris craft engine. I know that might make some of y'all roll y'all's eyes. But out of all the 427s I found. This is the only one I found that isn't bored to nothing or welded shut. I gutted a bunch of parts off a 390 for it. A set of factory 427 heads and a ford tri-power intake manifold and carburetors I had to build for it. Oil pump, timing chain, timing chain cover, rocker arms, several balancers to choose from and many parts I'm lucky to get my hands on. I have about 85% of what I need.
I also have two C6 transmissions. It's pretty funny because I spent a long time to find a big block 4 speed top loader I can afford without having to drive across Gods creation. I decided to just go with a C6 because they are cheaper. But I figured it would be just as annoying to find because of the bell house bolt pattern. The same day I decided to go automatic transmission. I stumbled across a Facebook ad for the 390 and a c6 transmission. I'm like if it's meant to be I will make him a offer and see if he will deliver. My S10 was having problems at that time. To my amazement he did. He even gave me a spare transmission. It's even weirder considering it's my left ankle that got fractured. So odds are I'm not going to be in the mood to use a clutch pedal. My 427 block is the same casting used in mercury. It will accept hydraulic lifters. So getting a really good rebuilt 390 with a ton of great parts was awesome.
I put the Torino aside to work on my C30. My C30 is the only vehicle that I own that Dan pull my fifth wheel camper I live in. I was once again going to try to apply for police academy. Every single time I try to apply something happens. Since I live in a camper. I figured I can simply move my camper closer to the academy. I had a accident in my 66 C30. The accident is not my fault. I had previous threads that I went more details of the accident. But I had the admin delete them. I will post more pictures and go in more details later. I don't think God wants me to be a cop.

Yeah. I'm mostly daydreaming to help cope with everything going on. But I should be able to go back to work in a few months. I'm literally got nothing else to do but work on my car when I able to. I nearly died. That put my life in perspective. I just want the world to leave me alone at this point. I want to build this car, shoot my guns, go to church, and generally take better care of myself.
I hope you make a full recovery. I got beat up pretty bad but God protected me from even more horrible injuries. I can't imagine having back injuries. I hope you make a full recovery.
