I've used CMore red dots (great) and UltraDot sights for Bullseye shooting. Merit optical device makes it possible to shoot iron sights without a problem using either single vision "shooting glasses" or standard progressive (no line) lenses.

Using a Merit device I shot my best ever metallic silouette score a couple of years ago with a 8-3/8 M629 with a patridge front sight. Even the rams at 200 yards were in focus with the front sight!

Nothing worse than a good gun, a full box of ammo, and you can't see the sights or target.

I shoot a lot of competition and have my prescription for my shooting glasses set for the dominant eye to have the front sight and off eye for distance. As stated, this does cause a but of unsteadiness (think vertigo) at first for 10-15 minutes but goes away quickly and you feel like you have your regular glasses on. Have never had any nausea wearing or after taking them off and I tend to wear them all day at a competition.

This is the fix that I have been using for the last 10 years. My optomitrist has me bring in my gun and a target and he tweaks the script until I'm happy and then have the glasses made. I have a great eye doc.
